- A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Tonge
Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: every paella is cooked separately, so vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests eat the same kind of meal as everyone else. Popular choices include Spanish desserts, canapé tapas and table tapas, and we’re regularly asked to cater garden and marquee weddings and civil partnerships and vow renewals.
Near Tonge, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

How we price wedding paella catering
The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:
- Parking and unloading
- Waiting and bar staff
- Your choice of paellas
- Whether you need crockery
Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you only pay for what you want.
What to tell us
Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:
- A picture of where we’d cook
- The venue or postcode
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Anything your venue supplies
We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.
Diets, allergies and planning
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:
- Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
- Send us the running order and speech times
- Ask whether your venue allows outside caterers
- Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, timed for after the first dance.
A table tapas starter gets everyone sharing.
Is live paella right for your wedding?
A buffet can leave food sitting out. Paella goes straight from pan to plate when guests are ready. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.
Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Tonge questions
Could we have live paella in Milton Creek Country Park?
Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Giles?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Can paella feel formal?
With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, table tapas, good crockery and staff serving the tables.
What do you need at the venue?
Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a photo if you are not sure.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.
Is halal food available?
We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
Do you cook inside?
Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.
How much is live paella catering?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a price.

Fresh pans for evening guests, quick to serve and filling.
Desserts
Churros with chocolate, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or your cake as dessert.
How the day works
The cooking is part of the entertainment. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook. Golden-hour photos in Tonge at midsummer come around 9:15pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:00pm.
- You tell us your date, venue, guest numbers and how you picture the day.
- We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
- We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
- On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
- We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.
Preparing for the day
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
- Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
