Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Theale
Evening paella is a favourite: it is hot, filling and quick to serve, so evening guests are fed and the dancing carries on. Popular choices include a paella wedding breakfast, table tapas and canapé tapas, and we are regularly asked to cater destination-style celebrations at home and vow renewals and civil ceremonies.
For a smaller place like Theale, a garden or farm wedding is often the dream. We’ll need a level spot and a way to reach it. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Planning for every diet
Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:
- Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
- Ask whether your venue allows outside caterers
- Tell us how many evening guests to expect
- Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
The pans are often set up where guests can see them, which makes a lovely backdrop for photos.
Canapé tapas with the drinks reception keep guests going during photos.
Your questions about wedding paella catering in Theale
Could we have live paella in Calcot Park?
Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.
Which station should guests use for Theale?
Theale station, in Theale itself.
Is it really cooked live?
Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.
Can you cater for children?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan for them.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.
Should we have more than one paella?
Typically two or three, so every guest has a choice. We will recommend a mix based on diets.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
What if our speeches run late?
Tell us and we will adjust. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it’s served at its best.
Before you choose a spot
No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

How it works
Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it’s served at its best. At midsummer, sunset in Theale is about 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

Planning help
DIY paella versus live catering
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.
What affects the price in Theale
There is nothing hidden: the quote reflects:
- The length of service
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- Distance and access to the venue
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.
What we need to know
You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- The date and rough timings
- A picture of where we’d cook
- Which courses you have in mind
Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: give us the basics about your wedding, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, use our quote form.
Working with your venue
Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Theale? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
Food trucks serve one order at a time, which can mean long queues at a wedding. Paella pans serve many guests quickly. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.
