Wedding paella catering in The Haven, made fresh on the day

We plan the wedding menu with you, course by course, around your guests, your venue and your budget. We cook evening paella, a paella wedding breakfast and table tapas, and typical bookings are for garden and marquee weddings and informal wedding breakfasts.

A wedding in a small place like The Haven frequently means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. You’ll know exactly what’s included before booking: the menu, the staff and any extras.

What we need at the venue

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:

  • An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

Popular choices

  • Evening paella
  • Sangria & bar staff
  • Paella wedding breakfast
  • Table tapas
  • Dessert
  • Canapé tapas

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Parking and unloading
  • Timings and hours
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • The address or venue name
  • What the venue already provides
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The date and time of the event

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

Catering for every guest

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Share your running order, including speeches
  • Ask whether your venue allows outside caterers
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one

On the day, we liaise with your coordinator or toastmaster, so you can enjoy yourselves.

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

Occasions we cook for in The Haven

Couples choose paella because it feels relaxed and generous, and because guests remember it.

Whatever the occasion, paella can be the star of the food. We frequently cook for:

  • Spanish-themed and destination-style weddings
  • Weddings in a marquee or garden
  • Food for evening guests
  • Weddings with mixed diets

Put the station on your invitation: Billingshurst station is about 3.4 miles away.

Before booking anyone

  • Travel and parking costs
  • Plates, cutlery and napkins, or disposables
  • A clear list of what’s included
  • How late numbers can change

How to compare caterers

Should I cook it myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Common questions in The Haven

Do you come out to small places like The Haven?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

What’s the nearest station to The Haven for guests?

Billingshurst station, about 3.4 miles south of the centre.

Do you cook inside?

Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Can you do sangria?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

How much paella per person?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

Is the paella cooked on site?

It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.

Can we try the food first?

Ask us about tastings when you get in touch.

What happens on the day

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. In The Haven, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. We check availability for your date.
  2. You choose canapés, tapas, paellas and desserts.
  3. We confirm the plan with your coordinator.
  4. Guests watch the paella cook during the reception.
  5. We serve and clear our cooking area.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
