Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Southsea

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the food arrives hot and plentiful. Typical bookings include weddings in a marquee or garden and weddings with mixed diets, with evening paella, a paella wedding breakfast and table tapas.

A wedding in Southsea might mean a ceremony at a local church followed by a reception in a garden, marquee or hall. That suits live paella perfectly: we can cook during the photos. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Larger events generally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Which courses you have in mind

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. Start when you’re ready: fill in our quote form.

What’s in the pans

Paella wedding breakfast

A choice of paellas, served at the pans or to the tables.

Canapé tapas

One- and two-bite tapas on boards, ideal for the drinks reception.

How the day works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. For a summer wedding in Southsea, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Plan cover in case of rain

Choosing a paella caterer

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Where we can cook in Southsea

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.
