Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

What we offer

  • Canapé tapas
  • Evening paella
  • Table tapas
  • Sangria & bar staff
  • Dessert
  • Paella wedding breakfast

How the day works

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. For a summer wedding in Shackleford, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Questions from Shackleford

Can you cook in Middlebriars Wood?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Is Shackleford close to London?

About 32 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Of course. Add your suppliers to the final numbers.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.

Do you provide drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

What if our speeches run late?

Tell us and we’ll adjust. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it is served at its best.

Is paella smart enough for a wedding?

It can be dressed up or kept relaxed, depending on how it is served.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Live paella or other catering?

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella goes straight from pan to plate when guests are ready. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What affects the price in Shackleford

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Parking and unloading
  • The number of people
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
