Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Rowly

Timing is everything with paella: once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and it is best served right away. We plan it around your speeches and photos. On the menu are evening paella, canapé tapas and Spanish desserts, and typical bookings are for big weddings with every diet and barn and farm weddings.

A wedding in a small place like Rowly often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That is exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Do you cater in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan for them.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.

How to compare caterers

What affects the price in Rowly

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Your choice of paellas
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Travel, parking and access

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The address or venue name
  • What the venue already provides
  • A picture of where we’d cook

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella is served hot from the pan. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

Why book with us

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Space, weather and the venue

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Popular choices

  • Table tapas

What happens on the day

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. For a summer wedding in Rowly, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is generally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
