How we price wedding paella catering

Your quote will be clear and itemised. What affects it most:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Parking and unloading
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: give us the basics about your wedding, and we will suggest a menu. To start, use our quote form.

Live paella or other catering?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Paella needs a level, ventilated spot and permission, and feels more relaxed. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why choose Love Paella in Piddinghoe

  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Crockery and waiting staff if you need them
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them

Piddinghoe questions

Which station should guests use for Piddinghoe?

Newhaven Town station, about 1.2 miles south-east of the centre.

Can you cook at venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.

Is the paella gluten-free?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is typically popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

How much space do you need?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.

DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

How the day works

Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Golden-hour photos in Piddinghoe at midsummer come around 9:15pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. We check availability for your date.
  2. You choose canapés, tapas, paellas and desserts.
  3. We confirm everything with your venue.
  4. The pans cook while guests enjoy the drinks.
  5. We serve, then pack down.
