  • Rustic barn weddings
  • Weddings with lots of dietary needs

Choosing a paella caterer

How our wedding paella catering works in New Zealand

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. For receptions after an intimate ceremony and rustic barn weddings, we can cook evening paella, Spanish desserts and table tapas.

Near New Zealand, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen needed, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Planning the cooking area

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Why choose live paella in New Zealand?

Compared with formal catering, live paella is relaxed and sociable, but with canapés, table tapas and good crockery, it still feels special. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why book with us

  • Catering across Buckinghamshire, including New Zealand
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment

Common questions in New Zealand

Can you cook at venues in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

We’re having a ceremony at St Peter's: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Who clears up?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it’s cooked separately.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

How much is live paella catering?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you’re free to enjoy your wedding. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. At midsummer, sunset in New Zealand is about 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

New Zealand weddings: local tips

New Zealand is about 1 mile west of Elmhurst, in Buckinghamshire. From the centre of New Zealand to the outskirts, we offer the same service: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. New Zealand is one of 263 towns and villages in Buckinghamshire where we cook. Our events stretch from New Zealand to Milton Keynes (about 15 miles away).

Put the station on your invitation: Aylesbury station is about 0.8 miles away. The Chilterns National Landscape is within about 6 miles of New Zealand, with plenty of rural wedding settings. Ask your venue about access and cooking rules.

Wedding paella catering in HP19 and HP20 is planned around your venue and timings. Streets in the area include Dunsham Lane, Drayton Road and Cannock Road, and we can cook for a wedding on any of them. Close by, we cover weddings in Elmhurst (1 mile east), Aylesbury (1 mile south), Watermead (1 mile north-east), Quarrendon Estate (1 mile west) and California (1 mile south). Larger places within reach include High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (12 miles south-east), Buckingham (14 miles north-west), Amersham (14 miles south-east), Princes Risborough (7 miles south) and Haddenham (6 miles south-west).

Other landmarks nearby include Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (under half a mile south) and Dinton Castle (3.8 miles south-west).

  • Nearby schools include The PACE Centre (0.6 miles west) and Buckinghamshire UTC (0.8 miles south-west)
  • Local pubs include The New Zealand pub (less than half a mile south)

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Count day and evening guests separately

We clear our cooking area away afterwards; any staff stay as long as agreed.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

DIY paella versus live catering

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
