Live wedding paella catering in Milton

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Milton

Paella as evening food is popular: hot, filling and served quickly from the pan, so the party keeps going. We are often asked to cater spanish-themed and destination-style weddings and weddings with mixed diets, serving Spanish desserts, evening paella and table tapas.

There is something special about a country wedding near Milton, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. At midsummer, sunset in Milton is about 9:30pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 9:00pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Before we arrive

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Diets, allergies and planning

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Pick a serving style
  • Enquire early for peak dates
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect

On the day, we liaise with your coordinator or toastmaster, so you can enjoy yourselves.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

Working with your venue

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

What affects the price in Milton

There is nothing hidden: the quote reflects:

  • How many courses
  • How many guests are eating
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • How many staff you need

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Details that help

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • A photo of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The venue or postcode
  • What the venue already provides

Questions from Milton

We are having a ceremony at Church of St John the Evangelist: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far is Milton from London?

About 64 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

How many paellas should we have?

Normally two or three, so every guest has a choice. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

What happens if it rains?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will make a plan B with you.

Is halal food available?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

How long do you need on site?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

How much is live paella catering?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers and we will reply with a price.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella is served hot from the pan. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can be a feast.
