FAQs for Martin Mill

Is Martin Mill too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Augustine?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.

Can paella feel formal?

It can be as relaxed or as polished as you like, depending on how it’s served.

What does wedding paella catering cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

How much paella per person?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

What about supplier meals?

Yes. Include suppliers in your numbers.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

How we price wedding paella catering

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The paellas you choose
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • How many guests are eating
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • The address or venue name
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Dietary needs and planning tips

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Enquire early for peak dates

Guests can queue at the pans, or staff can serve the tables.

Add sangria, or bar staff to serve your own drinks.

What’s in the pans

Desserts

Churros with chocolate, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

Canapé tapas

Canapé tapas fill the gap before the meal, without spoiling appetites.

How the day works

We get there well before serving, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. In Martin Mill, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is normally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Is live paella right for your wedding?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and suits a relaxed style. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.
