Live wedding paella catering in Maplehurst

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Wedding paella catering in Maplehurst, cooked live

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests drift over to watch the pans while the photos are being taken, and the food arrives hot and plentiful. Whether it’s marquee and garden weddings and weddings with a Spanish theme, we’ll put together a menu of canapé tapas, Spanish desserts and table tapas and more.

Rural weddings around Maplehurst have a magic of their own, and paella cooking in the open air adds to it. Plan for access and a wet-weather cover. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, not reheated.

Working with your venue

Organising a club, school or community event in Maplehurst? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Give us the details and we will suggest a plan.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Live paella or other catering?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and feels more relaxed. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why Maplehurst hosts choose us

  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site

The process

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Golden-hour photos in Maplehurst at midsummer come around 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. You tell us your date, venue, guest numbers and how you picture the day.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

Before we arrive

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

What affects the price in Maplehurst

There’s nothing hidden: the price is based on:

  • How many courses
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • How many staff you need
  • How many guests are eating

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The venue or postcode
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Pick a serving style
  • Include any suppliers you are feeding
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP

We clear our cooking area away afterwards; any staff stay as long as agreed.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

Maplehurst: your questions answered

Is Maplehurst close to London?

Roughly 35 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Can you cater a reception after a service at The Parish Church of St Andrew?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How long does the paella take?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We will agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.

Do you do desserts?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.

What if photos overrun?

Tell us and we will adjust. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it is served at its best.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Is it really cooked live?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.

Dishes our guests love
