Planning an event in Ludgershall?

Organising for someone else?

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Wedding paella catering in Ludgershall, made fresh on the day

Paella has a natural rhythm: the rice needs about 20 minutes and is best served immediately. We time it around your speeches and photos. On the menu are table tapas, a paella wedding breakfast and canapé tapas, and we are regularly asked to cater evening wedding food and civil partnerships and vow renewals.

Weddings in a place like Ludgershall often feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. A huge pan on the lawn fits right in. Tell us about access to the field or garden. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, with each paella cooked in its own pan.

Should I cook it myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Ludgershall questions

Is Ludgershall close to London?

About 68 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St James?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans.

When should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

How much does wedding paella catering cost in Ludgershall?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

How much space do you need?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

Planning the cooking area

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, sunset in Ludgershall is about 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
