Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Little Mill
Your wedding menu is planned with you, course by course, around your guests, your venue and your budget. On the menu are canapé tapas, Spanish desserts and table tapas, and we are regularly asked to cater garden and marquee weddings and rustic barn weddings.
There is something special about a country wedding near Little Mill, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.
Planning the cooking area
Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:
- A safe distance from anything that could catch
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
- An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee
If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.
What we offer
- Sangria & bar staff
- Canapé tapas
- Table tapas
- Paella wedding breakfast
- Evening paella
- Dessert
What happens on the day
The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, sunset in Little Mill is about 9:15pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September.

Live paella or other catering?
Hog roasts are popular but tricky for mixed diets. Paella covers them with separate pans. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.
Why Little Mill hosts choose us
- Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
- Real theatre, not just catering
- Fast service from the pan
- Crockery and waiting staff if you need them

DIY paella versus live catering
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Planners, venues and businesses
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.
Common questions in Little Mill
Do you come out to small places like Little Mill?
No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of the Holy Trinity?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Is paella too casual for a wedding?
With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, table tapas, good crockery and staff serving the tables.
Is the paella cooked on site?
Yes, always. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.
Do you do vegan paella?
Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
What about supplier meals?
Just add them to your numbers. Let us know when they need feeding.
Can we try the food first?
Tell us you’d like a tasting when you enquire, and we’ll talk you through it.
What if photos overrun?
We adapt. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it is served at its best.
Catering for every guest
Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:
- Ask about your date as soon as you have one
- Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
- Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
- Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
We clear our cooking area away afterwards; any staff stay as long as agreed.
We can provide crockery and waiting staff if your venue does not.
Prices and what affects them
There’s nothing hidden: the quote reflects:
- The paellas you choose
- Timings and hours
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.
Details that help
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

- Any dietary needs and allergies
