How our wedding paella catering works in Knox Bridge

Paella suits relaxed, sociable weddings, long tables and garden or barn venues. It feels generous without being stuffy. Whether it is informal wedding breakfasts and spanish-themed and destination-style weddings, we will put together a menu of Spanish desserts, table tapas and a paella wedding breakfast.

Near Knox Bridge, weddings are often in fields, barns or gardens. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

How the day works

Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. In Knox Bridge, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook

Common questions in Knox Bridge

Is Knox Bridge close to London?

Roughly 38 miles from the centre of London.

Do you come out to small places like Knox Bridge?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Is halal food available?

Yes. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in a separate pan.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Do you offer tastings?

Tell us you’d like a tasting when you enquire, and we will talk you through it.

Planning for every diet

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Share your running order, including speeches
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator
  • Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, timed for after the first dance.

Table tapas make a sociable starter.

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Before you choose a spot

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
