Live wedding paella catering in Kingston

How our wedding paella catering works in Kingston

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests drift over to watch the pans while the photos are being taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. On the menu are canapé tapas, evening paella and a paella wedding breakfast, and typical bookings are for rustic barn weddings and civil partnerships and vow renewals.

Near Kingston, weddings are often in fields, barns or gardens. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen needed, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee

Kingston is about 5 miles south-east of Canterbury, in Kent. From the centre of Kingston to the outskirts, wedding paella catering works the same way: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. We cater in all 922 towns and villages in Kent.

Planning photos in Jumping Downs? It is worth checking the park’s rules first. With the Kent Downs National Landscape within about 5 miles, there are country venues, barns and gardens nearby. Check vehicle access and cooking rules with the venue.

Kingston questions

What’s the nearest station to Kingston for guests?

The closest is Adisham station, roughly 2.7 miles away.

Can you cook in Jumping Downs?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Can you cook indoors?

Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.

What does wedding paella catering cost?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Is halal food available?

Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, Kent included. See all areas.

Can you do sangria?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Why choose live paella in Kingston?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Paella needs a level, ventilated spot and permission, and feels more relaxed. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you only pay for what you want.

Why Kingston hosts choose us

Take a look at How we price And What paella catering costs.

What affects the price in Kingston

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • How long we are needed on site
  • How many staff you need
  • Guest numbers

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

What to tell us

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Expected numbers
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The venue or postcode

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you’re ready, fill in our quote form.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Book early for summer Saturdays
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator

If speeches or photos run over, tell us, and we will adapt the timing so the paella is served at its best.

Spanish desserts, or your own wedding cake, finish the meal.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Kingston, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Leave space around the cooking area

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
