Live wedding paella catering in Hawkinge

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Hawkinge

Paella suits relaxed, sociable weddings, especially with long tables and outdoor venues. It feels generous without being stuffy. Typical bookings include food for evening guests and barn and farm weddings, with a paella wedding breakfast, canapé tapas and table tapas.

For a smaller place like Hawkinge, a garden or farm wedding is often the dream. We’ll need a level spot and a way to reach it. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it is ready.

Hawkinge: your questions answered

Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Luke's?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can we try the food first?

Ask us when you enquire and we’ll explain the options.

Do you come to Hawkinge?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Hawkinge is within our area and the rest of Kent. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.

Will you talk to our venue?

Of course. We are happy to talk to your venue about access, timings and requirements.

How much space do you need?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

What if the timings change?

It happens. We time the rice to the actual running order, so it is served at its best.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and suits a relaxed style. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Planning the cooking area

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Evening paella

Paella makes great evening food.

Step by step

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Guests normally gather round to watch as the paella takes shape. Golden-hour photos in Hawkinge at midsummer come around 9:15pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:45pm, and in late September about 7:00pm.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

How to prepare

  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
