Wedding paella catering in Hale

About our wedding paella catering in Hale

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the food arrives hot and plentiful. For blessings and vow renewals and sharing-style wedding meals, we can cook table tapas, evening paella and Spanish desserts.

A wedding in a small place like Hale frequently means a field, a barn or a family garden. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, never made in advance and reheated, and served the moment it is ready.

Before you choose a spot

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

How the day works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. For a summer wedding in Hale, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Paella compared with other options

Food vans can create long queues. Paella is served quickly to many guests. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why choose Love Paella in Hale

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • We cover Hale and the whole of Hampshire
  • Served hot, straight from the pan

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:

  • Ask whether your venue allows outside caterers
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP cards

On the day, we liaise with your coordinator or toastmaster, so you can enjoy yourselves.

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

For event organisers in Hale

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Your questions about wedding paella catering in Hale

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Is Hale too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

Can paella feel formal?

It can be dressed up or kept relaxed, depending on presentation and service.

How long does the paella take?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana, or you can serve your own cake.

Do you cover Hale?

We do. We cook at events in Hale and across Hampshire. Tell us your date and we will check availability.
