Wedding paella catering for Four Ashes events

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Four Ashes

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the food arrives hot and plentiful. On the menu are evening paella, Spanish desserts and canapé tapas, and we are frequently booked for evening food for extra guests and relaxed sharing-style wedding breakfasts.

A wedding in a small place like Four Ashes often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

What wedding paella catering costs

These are the factors that matter most:

  • The paellas you choose
  • Guest numbers
  • The length of service
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

What to tell us

The more we know about your wedding, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The venue or postcode
  • The courses you’d like

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. To ask for one, send us your details through our quote form.

Dishes our guests love

Canapé tapas

Canapés keep guests happy between the ceremony and the meal, without spoiling appetites.

Table tapas

Tapas set out on every table to share, from bravas to croquetas and Manchego.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Four Ashes questions

We are having a ceremony at St Michael and All Angels Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you cook at venues in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Do you do desserts?

We do. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices.

What if photos overrun?

It happens. We time the rice to the actual running order, so it’s served at its best.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

What about supplier meals?

Yes. Include suppliers in your numbers.

Can we have a tasting?

Mention a tasting in your enquiry, and we’ll explain how it works.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

How it works

Serving is fast: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. Golden-hour photos in Four Ashes at midsummer come around 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. You pick the courses and dishes.
  3. We confirm the plan with your coordinator.
  4. The pans cook while guests enjoy the drinks.
  5. We serve and clear our cooking area.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Where we can cook in Four Ashes

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you. The main points are:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Level ground for the pans and burners

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.
