Wedding paella catering in Esher

Wedding paella catering in Esher, cooked live

We plan the wedding menu with you, course by course, around your guests, your venue and your budget. Popular choices include a paella wedding breakfast, table tapas and canapé tapas, and we’re regularly asked to cater spanish-themed and destination-style weddings and vow renewals and civil ceremonies.

In Esher, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Tell us about access to the field or garden. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Should I cook it myself?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

The process

Here’s how the day usually runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. At midsummer, sunset in Esher is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather

Common questions in Esher

Could we have live paella in Claremont Park?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Is Esher close to London?

About 15 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Can you cook indoors?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

Can you do sangria?

We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • The number of people

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

Paella compared with other options

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, consider your venue, diets and the style you want. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Everything is confirmed in writing.
