About paella catering in KT8

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately. We are frequently asked to cater milestone birthday parties and naming days and family parties, with vegan paella, mixed paella and vegetable paella.

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

What you’ll pay

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

What you get with us

  • Drinks service on request
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu

Catering events across KT8

Across KT8, we cook in 3 towns and 0 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in Esher, Molesey and West Molesey or a quiet village, the approach is the same: level ground, ventilation and agreed timings.

Molesey: School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as The Orchard Infant School, can book us as a food stall. For a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of St Mary, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. Around midsummer it stays light in Molesey until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Dishes our guests love

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a proper main dish. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.

Mixed paella

Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it’s often the first pan to empty.

Who books paella catering?

There’s no kitchen needed, so it is at home in gardens, fields and marquees where plated meals are hard.

Whatever you are celebrating in KT8, paella can be the star of the food. We regularly cater:

  • Retirement celebrations
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Big birthdays
  • Weddings, from canapés to evening food

Before you choose a spot

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
