Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Give us separate day and evening numbers
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator

Paella can be served at the pans or carried to the tables by staff.

A table tapas starter gets everyone sharing.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

How it works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we adjust the cooking so it is served at its best. In Biddenden, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:50pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable

Biddenden: your questions answered

Do you cater in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Do you come out to small places like Biddenden?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so contact us early.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Is paella too casual for a wedding?

Served well, it feels generous and special: canapés, table tapas, good crockery and staff serving the tables.

Who books wedding paella catering in Biddenden?

Paella feels relaxed and generous, which is why couples choose it, and guests talk about it afterwards.

Live paella suits almost any gathering. In Biddenden, people book us for events such as:

Live paella or other catering?

Plated wedding meals need a kitchen and more staff. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and feels more relaxed. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.
