What wedding paella catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Parking and unloading
  • Your choice of paellas
  • How many courses

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • Where the event is
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The date and time of the event

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

The process

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. In Bearsted, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, which means evening paella is usually served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

How to prepare

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload

How to get a price

Send us the date, your venue or ME14 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just use our quote form.

Your questions about wedding paella catering in Bearsted

What’s the nearest station to Bearsted for guests?

Bearsted station, in Bearsted itself.

Could we have live paella in Mote Park?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

Can paella feel formal?

With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, table tapas, good crockery and staff serving the tables.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

What if the weather’s bad?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Choosing between paella and a traditional menu?, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

How to compare caterers

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

Where we can cook in Bearsted

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. These are the things we check:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.
