Wedding paella catering in Ash, cooked live

A paella wedding makes mixed diets simple: every paella is cooked separately, so every guest gets a proper hot main. Popular choices include canapé tapas, Spanish desserts and table tapas, and we’re regularly asked to cater informal wedding breakfasts and big weddings with every diet.

In Ash, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Let us know about access for the van. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

The process

We get there well before serving, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. For a summer wedding in Ash, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

Getting ready for the day

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

How we price wedding paella catering

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Parking and unloading
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.

What we need to know

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

12 questions to ask before you book

Ash questions

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Nicholas: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is Ash from London?

About 61 miles from central London.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, Kent included. See all areas.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Include children in your numbers.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Is halal food available?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

Do you do starters?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

Before you choose a spot

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We need:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before booking.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
