A wedding in a small place like Andwell often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, with each paella cooked in its own pan.

Andwell questions

We’re having a ceremony at St Swithun's church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Do you come out to small places like Andwell?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Just add them to your numbers. Tell us when they’ll eat.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

Is paella too casual for a wedding?

It can be dressed up or kept relaxed, depending on presentation and service.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

Is it really cooked live?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.

How much is live paella catering?

Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.

If you are marrying at a church near Andwell, such as St Swithun's church, a reception in a garden, marquee or hired venue nearby keeps the day flowing: the paella can be cooking while you have photos taken, so the meal is ready when you arrive. This part of Hampshire takes in RG25, RG27 and RG24. Local streets include Greywell Road and Canal Reach; a wedding at home on any of them works well with live paella. Our caterer checklist

Should I cook it myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

For event organisers in Andwell

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella is served hot from the pan. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why book with us

  • Paella cooked from scratch on site

Prices and what affects them

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Timings and hours
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Travel, parking and access

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

Details that help

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Where the event is
  • The date and time of the event

Send us the date, your venue or RG25 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Planning for every diet

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
  • Book early for summer Saturdays

Guests can queue at the pans, or staff can serve the tables.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

What we need at the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.
