Planning an event in Hook?

About our wedding paella catering in Hook

Paella has a natural rhythm: once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and it’s best served straight away. We time it around your speeches and photos. Popular choices include canapé tapas, table tapas and Spanish desserts, and typical bookings are for wedding receptions after a small ceremony and weddings with mixed diets.

For a smaller place like Hook, a garden or farm wedding is often the dream. We’ll need a level spot and a way to reach it. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: the menu, the staff and any extras.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, every diet is easy. Our advice:

  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Include any suppliers you are feeding
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one

After service, we pack down our cooking area; staff you’ve booked stay as agreed.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue doesn’t.

The process

Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. At midsummer, sunset in Hook is about 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Your questions about wedding paella catering in Hook

Is Hook close to London?

Roughly 40 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

We’re having a ceremony at St John the Evangelist: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Is halal food available?

Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in a separate pan.

What happens if it rains?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Do you cater in Hook?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Hook and the rest of Hampshire. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Where we can cook in Hook

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Live paella or other catering?

Plated wedding meals need a kitchen and more staff. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and feels more relaxed. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.
