What else we do in Winsor
Winsor: venues and local tips
Winsor is about 2 miles west of Totton, in Hampshire. For tapas catering in Winsor, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and paella cooked live on the day. Winsor is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire where we cook. We cook right across the region, from Winsor to Southampton (7 miles away).
Guests travelling by rail: the nearest station is Ashurst New Forest station, about 2.7 miles south-east. Canapé tapas suit the drinks after a ceremony at a church like Church of St Mary. Winsor is within about 4 miles of the New Forest National Park, a lovely setting for a drinks reception outdoors.
Wherever your event is in SO40, we can cook for your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Organising for someone else?
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
Paella compared with other options
Generic canapés all look the same. Spanish tapas bring colour and flavour. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Winsor questions
Is Winsor too small for live paella?
No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.
We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.
Are the tapas served hot?
Hot tapas are finished on site so they’re served at their best.
Do you come to Winsor?
Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Winsor is within our area and the rest of Hampshire. To check your date, use our quote form.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Of course. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.
When should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it is worth asking.
Where do you cater?
We cover London and the South East, Hampshire included. See all areas.
Is tapas catering available separately?
Yes. Tapas and canapés can be booked on their own.
How we price tapas catering
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- The paellas you choose
- The length of service
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
Getting an accurate quote
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:
- The venue or postcode
- A picture of where we’d cook
- Roughly how many adults and children
- What the venue already provides
Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.
Catering for every guest
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:
- Ask guests about diets and allergies
- Allow more variety if tapas are the whole meal
- Separate seafood dishes from the rest
- Tell us what role tapas play
Hot dishes are finished on site.
Bar staff and sangria.
The process
Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. At midsummer, it’s light in Winsor until about 9:25pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.
- We check your date.
- You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
- We arrive and set up our station.
- Hot and cold tapas are served.
- We clear away at the end.
Getting ready for the day
- Plan cover in case of rain

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
