Plenty are vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers. We label each dish.

Do you cater in Weavers Down?

Tapas catering for your event in Weavers Down

For standing receptions, canapés work best; for seated meals, table tapas. Many events have both. Whether it’s table tapas as a starter and birthday and anniversary parties, we can cook croquetas, patatas bravas and Manchego with membrillo and more.

In a rural spot like Weavers Down, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

How we price tapas catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Parking and unloading
  • The length of service
  • Your choice of paellas

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • What the venue already provides
  • The address or venue name
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • The courses you’d like

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, use our quote form.

Should I cook it myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Pair tapas with sangria, cava or sherry
  • Collect dietary needs
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal
  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate

Staff carry canapés round and keep boards topped up.

Staff to serve canapés.

Space, weather and the venue

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A suitable spot to finish hot tapas
  • Table space for sharing dishes at seated meals
  • Access to unload near the serving area

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

How it works

Watching it cook is half the fun. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook while your guests chat. A summer drinks reception in Weavers Down has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. We check your date.
  2. You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
  3. We arrive and set up our station.
  4. Hot and cold tapas are served.
  5. We clear away at the end.
