Tapas catering near Stroud

How our tapas catering works in Stroud

Tapas pair naturally with a live paella, as a starter while the rice cooks, but they work on their own too. Typical bookings include office parties and launches and canapés with welcome drinks, with croquetas, gambas al ajillo and padrón peppers.

For a country party near Stroud, tapas and sangria set the mood. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

For planners, venues and organisers

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. Our advice:

  • Ensure dishes are labelled
  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Allow more variety if tapas are the whole meal
  • Pair tapas with sangria, cava or sherry

Each dish is labelled.

Follow tapas with a live paella.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • How long we are needed on site
  • How many courses
  • How many guests are eating

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • A picture of where we’d cook

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Stroud: your questions answered

We’re having a ceremony at Stroud Mission Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What’s the nearest station to Stroud for guests?

The closest is Petersfield station, roughly 1.3 miles away.

What does tapas catering cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

Do we need staff for canapés?

Yes, if you want them. Canapés need staff to serve.

What happens if it rains?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Do you do tapas on their own?

Yes, tapas work on their own.

Is the paella gluten-free?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.

The process

We get there well before serving, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Guests generally gather round to watch as the paella takes shape. At midsummer, it’s light in Stroud until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Getting ready for the day

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
