Tapas catering in Langrish
Working with your venue
Throwing a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
How our tapas catering works in Langrish
Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; for seated meals, table tapas. Lots of events do both. Whether it is engagement parties and work receptions, we’ll put together a menu of Manchego with membrillo, gambas al ajillo and patatas bravas.
Near Langrish, tapas and sangria suit a garden or field party. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.
Diets, allergies and planning
Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:
- Label seafood clearly
- Let us know if tapas are a starter or the main event
- Match tapas with Spanish drinks
- Book staff to carry canapés round
Afterwards, we clear away.
Churros or crema catalana to finish.
Is live paella right for your event?
A plated starter needs a kitchen and staff. Table tapas are relaxed and sociable. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Langrish questions
Can you cook at venues in the South Downs National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St John the Evangelist?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Do you do starters?
Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas go out first, then the paella.
What space do you need to cook?
Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.
Should we have more than one paella?
Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.
When do you arrive?
We get there in good time to set up. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Is it really cooked live?
Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.
