How our tapas catering works in Seale

Many classic tapas are naturally vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers, and several can be made gluten-free. Typical bookings include birthday and anniversary parties and sharing boards for evening guests, serving gambas al ajillo, Serrano ham and padrón peppers.

In a rural spot like Seale, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

What’s in the pans

Patatas bravas

A tapas classic and typically vegetarian.

Manchego & membrillo

A simple, classic pairing.

How it works

Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Evening receptions in Seale stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, numbers and how you’d like the tapas served.
  2. You get a suggested selection and a price.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
  5. We clear away our equipment when service is finished.

Planning help

Why choose live paella in Seale?

Plated starters need a kitchen. Table tapas are shared and relaxed. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Why us?

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Drinks service on request
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site

Dietary needs and planning tips

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Check diets in advance
  • Widen the selection for a tapas-only menu
  • Book staff to carry canapés round
  • Ask for labels on each dish

Afterwards, we clear away.

Seale: your questions answered

Is Seale close to London?

About 33 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Is Seale too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan for them.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

Can you bring crockery?

If you need them, yes. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

What about pudding?

We do. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.

Do you provide drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

What we need at the venue

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • The venue’s agreement to outside caterers
  • Table space for sharing dishes at seated meals
  • A spot for our serving station

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Popular choices

  • Gambas al ajillo
  • Serrano ham
  • Manchego & membrillo
  • Olives & bread
  • Padrón peppers
  • Patatas bravas
  • Chorizo in red wine
  • Tortilla española
  • Croquetas
  • Albóndigas
