How our tapas catering works in Rake
Tapas pair naturally with a live paella, served while the paella cooks, but they’re great on their own. Popular choices include padrón peppers, albóndigas and Serrano ham, and we’re regularly asked to cater tapas and paella menus and receptions and drinks parties.
For a country party near Rake, tapas and sangria set the mood. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated, and served the moment it’s ready.

Your questions about tapas catering in Rake
Is Rake too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Rake Mission Church?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.
How many tapas per person?
That depends on their role in the meal. We’ll suggest quantities for your event.
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, in front of your guests.
Is halal food available?
Yes. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.
How much paella per person?
Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.
Can you cook indoors?
Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.
How many different paellas?
Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

What tapas catering costs
The price comes down to a few factors:
- How many courses
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- How long we’re needed on site
- Waiting and bar staff
Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.
Details that help
These details help us quote quickly:
- Expected numbers
- Your date and when you want to eat
- Diets and allergies you know about
- Which courses you have in mind
We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, send us your details through our quote form.
Dishes our guests love
Croquetas
Crisp outside, creamy inside, frequently with ham or mushroom.
Patatas bravas
Fried potatoes with spicy sauce.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Is live paella right for your event?
Generic canapés all look the same. Tapas bring something different. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.
What you get with us

How it works
We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Evening receptions in Rake stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.
