Tapas catering for your event in Northwood

Hot tapas are finished on site, so they arrive hot. We cook gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas and Manchego with membrillo, and we’re regularly asked to cater office parties and launches and tapas starters.

For a party in a place like Northwood, a tapas spread is easy and sociable. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, not reheated.

Northwood: venues and local tips

Northwood is about 1 mile north-west of Ramsgate, in Kent. Events in Northwood are planned around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and live cooking on the day. We cover all 922 towns and villages in Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. We cook right across the region, from Northwood to Canterbury (about 15 miles away).

If you’re looking at a historic venue around Northwood, check its catering rules early, as many limit cooking. Historic houses near Northwood include Quex Park (3.6 miles west). For a drinks reception at a historic venue, canapé tapas can work where live cooking is not allowed. With the sea within about 2 miles, seafood tapas such as gambas al ajillo are a natural choice.

For tapas catering in CT12, CT10 and CT11, we plan around your venue and your guests. Local streets include Gwyn Road, Coxes Lane and Roman Road; an event at home on any of them works well with live paella. Northwood is on the A254 and A256, so it’s easy for us to reach with the van and pans. If your venue is just outside Northwood, we also cover Ramsgate (1 mile south-east), Upton (1 mile east), St Lawrence (1 mile south), St Peter's (1 mile north-east) and Broadstairs (1 mile north-east). We also cook in nearby towns such as Canterbury (15 miles west), Dover (15 miles south), Deal (9 miles south), Herne Bay (12 miles west), Walmer (10 miles south) and Wincheap (15 miles west).

A little further out are Westwood Cross (0.5 miles north-west) and Ramsgate Museum (1.4 miles south-east). Open spaces near Northwood include Sandwich and Pegwell Bay.

  • Local schools include The Royal Harbour Academy (0.5 miles south-east) and The Charles Dickens School (1 mile north-east)
  • Nearby, you’ll find The Derby Arms (0.8 miles south-east)

Northwood: your questions answered

Is Northwood close to London?

About 65 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

What about events near the coast?

Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Are there vegetarian tapas?

Yes. Tortilla, bravas and Manchego are popular vegetarian choices.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.

Where do you cater?

We cater across London and the South East, including Kent. See all areas.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Is the paella cooked on site?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Planners, venues and businesses

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

What happens on the day

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. A summer drinks reception in Northwood has daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:00pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:50pm, are better indoors.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. Hot and cold tapas are served.
  5. We clear away at the end.

Preparing for the day

What affects the price in Northwood

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • How many guests are eating

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Expected numbers
  • The courses you’d like
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The venue or postcode
