Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. A summer drinks reception in Newtown has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it’s dark around 7:10pm, and in December by about 4:00pm.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We arrive and set up our station.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook

12 questions to ask before booking

Working with your venue

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

How we price tapas catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Waiting and bar staff

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The address or venue name
  • Your date and when you want to eat

Send us the date, your venue or PO17 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and you’ll get a menu idea and a price. Just fill in our quote form.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

What’s in the pans

Manchego & membrillo

Spanish sheep’s cheese with quince paste.

Patatas bravas

Crisp potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce, frequently with alioli.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
