Tapas catering in Minley, cooked live

Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; table tapas suit seated meals. Many events have both. We are often asked to cater birthday and anniversary parties and launches and office parties, with padrón peppers, gambas al ajillo and tortilla española.

Near Minley, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Organising for someone else?

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Minley: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Minley?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Andrew?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Who clears up?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Is tapas catering available separately?

Absolutely.

How do you work out quantities?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

How do you work out quantities?

That depends on their role in the meal. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest quantities.

What if the weather’s bad?

We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Do you do starters?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

What tapas catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • How many courses
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Guest numbers
  • How many staff you need

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The date and rough timings
  • Expected numbers

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will send a clear, itemised quote.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Label vegetarian and allergen-free dishes
  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal

Hot tapas are finished on site and served right away.

Live paella or other catering?

Plated starters need a kitchen. Table tapas are shared and relaxed. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Why book with us

  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan

  • A spot for our serving station
  • Unloading access

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

How the day works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan when you’re ready to eat. Evening receptions in Minley stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. We put together a tapas selection and a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up and finish the hot tapas on site.
  4. We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
  5. We clear away our equipment when service is finished.
