Tapas can be a starter, a reception or the whole meal, so they fit most plans. The cost per head usually falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

How we price tapas catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • How many guests are eating
  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The courses you’d like
  • Your date and when you want to eat

To get a price, use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will put together a menu and price.

Should I cook it myself?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

The process

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. A summer drinks reception in Hawkhurst has daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it’s dark around 7:00pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. We suggest a selection and confirm a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up and finish the hot tapas on site.
  4. Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
  5. We pack down when service ends.
