About our tapas catering in Gold Street

Many classic tapas are naturally vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers, and several can be made gluten-free. Popular choices include patatas bravas, Serrano ham and gambas al ajillo, and we’re regularly asked to cater anniversary parties and engagement celebrations.

For a country party near Gold Street, tapas and sangria set the mood. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, with each paella cooked in its own pan.

What happens on the day

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you’re free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Sunset in Gold Street is around 9:20pm in June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You pick the style.

12 questions to ask before booking

Common questions in Gold Street

We are having a ceremony at St Mary's Room: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you cook in Camer Park Country Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.

How long does the paella take?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Do you provide drinks?

We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

How much does tapas catering cost in Gold Street?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.

Do you come to Gold Street?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Gold Street and the rest of Kent. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

How many different paellas?

Generally two or three, so every guest has a choice. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Diets, allergies and planning

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Include staff for canapés
  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Make sure dishes are labelled

Canapés circulate with drinks as guests arrive.

Waiting staff for canapés.

Before you choose a spot

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Parking near the venue
  • Table space for sharing dishes at seated meals
  • A spot for our serving station

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

About the dishes

Gambas al ajillo

A favourite with seafood lovers.

Patatas bravas

Fried potatoes with spicy sauce.

Should I cook it myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
