Tapas catering for Froyle events

How we price tapas catering

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Timings and hours
  • How many guests are eating
  • Waiting and bar staff

Larger events generally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The courses you’d like
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Expected numbers

Tapas catering in Froyle, made fresh on the day

Plenty of tapas are vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers, and several can be made gluten-free. We’re frequently asked to cater office parties and launches and sharing tapas starters, serving croquetas, Manchego with membrillo and Serrano ham.

In a rural spot like Froyle, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

Common questions in Froyle

What’s the nearest station to Froyle for guests?

Bentley (Hampshire) station, about 2.1 miles east of the centre.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mary of the Assumption?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Are your tapas vegetarian-friendly?

Many tapas are naturally vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers. Each dish is labelled.

Do you do starters?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

What does tapas catering cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a price.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Catering for every guest

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Add sangria or cava
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal
  • Canapés need staff to serve
  • Label seafood clearly

Each dish is labelled.

Add a live paella main.

Live paella or other catering?

Tapas are flexible, so they fit most plans. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why us?

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • A quote that spells everything out

Step by step

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, it is light in Froyle until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
