Live tapas catering in Chaldon

About our tapas catering in Chaldon

Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; table tapas suit seated meals. Many events have both. Whether it is tapas starters and cocktail parties, we’ll put together a menu of padrón peppers, patatas bravas and albóndigas.

In a rural spot like Chaldon, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

Chaldon questions

Could we have live paella in Kitchen Copse?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Do you come out to small places like Chaldon?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.

Can we add drinks?

We can add sangria and bar staff.

Do you provide drinks?

Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Do you cater in Chaldon?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Chaldon and the rest of Surrey. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

What we need at the venue

We’ll be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Space on each table
  • An area to prepare hot tapas
  • The venue’s agreement to outside caterers

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

How the day works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. At midsummer, it is light in Chaldon until about 9:20pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish hot tapas on site.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
