How paella catering works in PO10
Watching it cook is part of the experience. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the aroma does the rest. We are frequently asked to cater naming days and family parties and office lunches and staff parties, with mixed paella, seafood paella and vegan paella.
Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our cooking area, and cook and serve without fuss.
- First, tell us about your event.
- We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
- We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
- We cook live on the day while guests watch.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
Cost
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.
Why book with us
- Waiting staff and crockery on request
- Food that becomes part of the entertainment
- Fast service from the pan
- A quote that spells everything out

Paella catering in PO10: local guide
From Chichester, Emsworth and Denvilles to 7 villages and hamlets, events across PO10 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella suits every kind of setting. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access. 6 of the places we cover in PO10 are within about 6 miles of the sea, so we frequently plan a sheltered cooking spot for the wind, and seafood paella is popular.
Emsworth: If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St James, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. If you are organising a summer fair for a school like St James Church of England Controlled Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. Planning an evening event in Emsworth? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.
For planners, venues and organisers
If you’re organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.
Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.
Live paella or other catering?
Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together.

Before you choose a spot
Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.
Dishes our guests love
Vegetable and vegan paella
The vegetable pan is a dish in its own right: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron.
Seafood paella
Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.
Questions from PO10
Do you bring everything you need?
Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You just need a suitable spot and access.
How long does the paella take?
It depends on the menu and numbers. We’ll agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.
Can you feed plenty of people?
Yes, that’s what it’s made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.
Can you provide dessert?
We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.
Can we choose the seafood?
We’ll talk through seafood options when we plan your menu.
Which paella is most popular?
Two or three is usual: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. See the sample menu.
How far ahead should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.
