You can keep it simple or build a full menu: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We’ll recommend what fits your event. Popular choices include mixed paella, vegetable paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and typical bookings are for garden get-togethers and leaving dos and retirements.

- We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
- The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.

Live paella across MK13: what to know
MK13 covers everything from Bradville, Bradwell and Two Mile Ash to 1 small villages and hamlets, and live paella suits every kind of setting. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.
Bradville: If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Christ Church, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. If you’re organising a summer fair for a school like Pepper Hill School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. Around midsummer it stays light in Bradville until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
Space, weather and the venue
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- Level ground for the pans and burners
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
Prices and what affects them
These are the factors that matter most:
- How many courses
- Whether you need crockery
- Travel, parking and access
- How many staff you need
Larger events usually cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.
Details that help
We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:
- The date and time of the event
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- The venue or postcode
- Any dietary needs and allergies

Is live paella right for you?
Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. It’s served quickly from the pan, so queues move.
Questions to ask before you book
- Travel and parking costs
- When final numbers are due
- A clear list of what’s included
- The venue requirements
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
Organising for someone else?
Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.
Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.
Your questions about paella catering in MK13
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
Yes, that’s what it is made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.
Who clears up?
We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
How much paella per person?
Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.
How many different paellas?
Usually two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.
Which paellas do you recommend?
That depends on who’s coming. A chicken or mixed paella is normally the most popular, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.
How long does the paella take?
We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Do you offer halal options?
Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.
