About our paella party catering in Strood

Paella is relaxed food: it is served from the pan and shared, without any fuss. Popular choices include tapas, churros and seafood paella, and we are regularly asked to cater leaving dos and retirements and milestone birthdays.

In a town like Strood, a garden party is the classic choice, and a hall or club works if the garden doesn’t. All we need is a level cooking spot. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated.

Strood questions

Could we have live paella in Rede Common?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Which station should guests use for Strood?

Strood station, about 1 mile east of the centre.

Can you supply plates?

If you need them. Proper crockery or good-quality disposables are available.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Will it be noisy or smoky?

Paella is cooked over gas, so there is cooking steam and smell but little smoke. The smell is typically the best advert for the party.

Which areas do you serve?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Do you do vegan paella?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

What does paella party catering cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

The process

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. For a late-May party in Strood, sunset is around 8:50pm; at midsummer it is about 9:20pm. If the party runs past dark, we’ll need light where we cook and serve.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. It’s served from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Have bins ready
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Arrange a gazebo in case of rain
  • Add a diet question to the invitation

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll help serve and clear so you can relax.

Add bread, salad and lemon.

Organising for someone else?

Throwing a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about parking, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

We will agree the cooking spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:
