Questions from Row Town
We’re having a ceremony at St Paul's: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
What’s the nearest station to Row Town for guests?
The closest is Addlestone station, roughly 1.2 miles away.
Will the neighbours notice?
Less smoke than a barbecue, more smell, and it is a good smell. A friendly note to the neighbours helps.
Do you cook at halls and clubs?
Frequently, yes. We need somewhere outside or well ventilated to cook, and the venue’s permission.
How many paellas should we have?
Generally two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.
Do you clear up afterwards?
We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
Do you do starters?
Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Planners, venues and businesses
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.
How it works
We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your party. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. At midsummer, it’s light in Row Town until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.
- We check your date and the space.
- You pick paellas, tapas and desserts.
- The burners go on and the sofrito starts.
- The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
- We serve hot and tidy our area afterwards.
Preparing for the day
- Get the venue’s permission for cooking
- Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
- Tell us when you want to eat

Planning help
Space, weather and the venue
We will agree the cooking spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
- A quick photo of the spot helps us plan
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Popular choices
- Mixed paella
- Seafood paella
- Paella Valenciana
- Vegetable paella
- Tapas
- Chicken & chorizo paella
- Churros
Should I cook it myself?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
