Paella party catering near Kent Street

Kent Street: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Kent Street for guests?

Wateringbury station, about 2.1 miles south-east of the centre.

Could we have live paella in Manor Park Country Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.

How long do you need on site?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can you set up in a small garden?

Many gardens work. We need level ground, clearance and access. A photo helps.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Kent Street.

How early should we book?

Early for summer weekends. Ask about your date.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.

Organising for someone else?

Organising a club, school or community event in Kent Street? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Give the neighbours a heads-up
  • Plan seats for most guests
  • Have bins ready
  • Tell us how many children are coming

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll help serve and clear.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges round off the meal.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Guest numbers
  • How many staff you need

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The venue or postcode
  • Expected numbers

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. To ask for one, send us your details through our quote form.

Planning a party in Kent Street

Kent Street is about 6 miles west of Maidstone, in Kent. Whether your party is in the middle of Kent Street or on the outskirts, paella party catering works the same way: paella cooked live, every diet catered for and a clear quote. We cook in all 922 towns and villages in Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. We cook right across the region, from Kent Street to London (26 miles away).

Nearby historic houses include Old Soar Manor (2.8 miles west). Grand settings like these frequently have strict catering rules, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler. Parks such as Manor Park Country Park generally need permission for cooking, so a garden or hired venue is often easier.

We cook at parties all over ME18. Local streets include Kent Street and Malling Road; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. Other places close to Kent Street for paella party catering include Herne Pound (1 mile south-west), Mereworth (1 mile south), New Pound (1 mile west), Pizien Well (1 mile south-east) and Swanton (1 mile south-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Maidstone (6 miles east), Dartford (14 miles north-west), Sevenoaks (9 miles west), Royal Tunbridge Wells (10 miles south-west), Gravesend (11 miles north) and Tonbridge (7 miles south-west).

Other landmarks nearby include Beechin Wood Archery Museum (2.5 miles north-west) and Maidstone Hospital (4.3 miles east).

  • Local pubs include The Queens Head Public House (less than half a mile south-west)

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A buffet takes hours to prepare and leaves food sitting out. Paella is cooked fresh and served hot. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why book with us

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Drinks service on request

How the day works

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Sunset in Kent Street is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June. After dark, the cooking area needs good lighting.

  1. We check your date and the space.
  2. You choose your paellas and any extras.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. In goes the rice, and guests gather.
  5. It is served hot, and we clear away afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
