Cooper's Corner questions
Do you come out to small places like Cooper's Corner?
No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.
How far is Cooper's Corner from London?
About 41 miles from central London, and well within our area.
Do you do starters?
Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Can you set up in a small garden?
Generally, yes, if there is a flat, open spot away from fences and branches. Send a picture and we will check.
How much space do you need?
Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. If in doubt, send a picture.
How early should we book?
As early as you can for summer weekends, which fill up first. Ask about your date.
Does it make a lot of smoke?
Less smoke than a barbecue, more smell, and it’s a good smell. Let the neighbours know.
Space, weather and the venue
Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
- Level ground for the pans and burners
- Send a photo of the garden so we can check
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Diets, allergies and planning
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Add a diet question to the invitation
- Keep children and pets away from the burners
- Let the neighbours know
We are set up before guests arrive, so the cooking is under way as people arrive.
Churros and chocolate go down well with all ages.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
Live paella or other catering?
A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Paella covers everyone with separate pans. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.
Why us?
- Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
- Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
- Paella cooked from scratch on site
- No hidden extras in your quote

How the day works
The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Sunset in Cooper's Corner is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June. If the party runs past dark, we’ll need light where we cook and serve.
- Send us your date, address and numbers.
- We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
- We arrive before your guests and set up.
- The paella cooks while your guests chat.
- We serve from the pan and pack down.
Preparing for the day
- Confirm numbers and diets before the day
