Paella catering near World's End

About our paella catering in World's End

There is something generous about paella: giant pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It makes the food an event in itself. For naming days and family parties and staff parties and work lunches, we can cook chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana for your guests.

In a London neighbourhood like World's End, the cooking spot is normally a back garden, a courtyard or a venue’s terrace. The thing to plan is parking and unloading, so let us know about parking permits or a driveway. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Where we can cook in World's End

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

As a London location, World's End is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is generally served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Paella Valenciana

In Valencia, the recipe is fiercely debated. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron, and it is a crowd-pleaser.

Live paella or other catering?

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Around midsummer it stays light in World's End until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Tell us where to park and unload

Common questions in World's End

We are having a ceremony at St Peter's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Which station should guests use for World's End?

The closest is Grange Park station, roughly 0.6 miles away.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

How much space do you need?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

What does paella catering cost?

Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.

Can you feed plenty of people?

Yes, that is what it’s made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Should I cook it myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

What paella catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Parking and unloading
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Larger events normally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.
