About our paella catering in Teynham
We cook every paella from scratch on the day, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. For big birthdays and retirement celebrations, we’ll put together a menu of seafood paella, vegetable paella and vegan paella and more.
For a place the size of Teynham, your own garden is frequently the best venue: no venue hire, and nobody stuck cooking. Let us know about access to the house. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.
Working with your venue
Organising a club, school or community event in Teynham? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.
Questions from Teynham
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mary?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Which station should guests use for Teynham?
Teynham has its own station: Teynham station.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.
What seafood can we have?
We will suggest seafood to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.
Which paellas suit our guests?
Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. Our menu lists the options.
Can you serve drinks?
Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.
Do you cover Teynham?
We do. We cook at events in Teynham and across Kent. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.
Can paella be the only main course?
Yes. Paella with bread and salad makes a full main course.
Catering for every guest
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Send allergies to us in writing
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
- Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can relax.
Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue doesn’t provide them.
What we need at the venue
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so we need a suitable spot. These are the things we check:
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
- Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Should I cook it myself?
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Live paella or other catering?
Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Everything is confirmed in writing.
Why book with us

Take a look at How we price Or The cost guide.
How we price paella catering
There is nothing hidden: the price is based on:
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
- How many courses
- How many staff you need
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.
What we need to know
The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:
- Roughly how many adults and children
- Your date and when you want to eat
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
- The courses you’d like
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you’re ready, fill in our quote form.
How it works
The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Around midsummer it stays light in Teynham until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- First, tell us about your event.
- We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
- Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
- On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Let us know who to talk to on the day
- Have a level space ready for the pans
