How our paella catering works in Tatsfield

One cooking area feeds a lot of people, very little goes to waste, and the food arrives hot. That’s why it works for so many events. Typical bookings include christenings and family gatherings and fairs, fêtes and festivals, with black rice, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella.

Gardens in London can be narrow, but a level spot away from fences and trees is typically all we need. In Tatsfield, the bigger question is parking near the house or venue. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, with each paella cooked in its own pan.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan

For event organisers in Tatsfield

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Tatsfield: your questions answered

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary the Virgin: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

Do you cater for young children?

Of course. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

Do we need to provide equipment?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You provide a suitable spot and access.

Which paellas suit our guests?

Most events choose two or three: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. See the sample menu.

Is paella enough as a main?

It’s a full meal on its own. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

What happens if it rains?

We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We will agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Before you choose a spot

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

Tatsfield is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Popular choices

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Count adults and children separately

After service, we pack down our cooking area.

Add canapé tapas with the drinks or table tapas as a starter while the paella cooks.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Tatsfield until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Tell us where to park and unload

Dishes our guests love

Seafood paella

Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.

How we price paella catering

Your quote will be clear and itemised. What affects it most:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • How long we are needed on site
  • The number of people
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we’re available that day.
