How our paella catering works in Stone Cross

Keep it simple, or go all out: just paella, or paella with tapas, desserts and drinks. We’ll suggest what suits your event. For office lunches and staff parties and milestone birthday parties, we will put together a menu of vegetable paella, seafood paella and paella Valenciana.

Around Stone Cross, events are frequently in gardens, local halls or nearby venues. If the road in is narrow, tell us so we can plan the van. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Make sure each pan is labelled

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can relax.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Step by step

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Stone Cross until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Leave space around the cooking area

Who books paella catering in Stone Cross?

Live paella is food and a show in one. The cooking becomes the centre of the event, and the food itself is hot and plentiful.

Whatever the occasion, live paella can be the centrepiece. We often cook for:

  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Office lunches and staff parties
  • Festivals, fairs and school events
  • Big birthdays

For a christening or wedding at a church such as St Luke's Church, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone.

How to compare caterers

What affects the price in Stone Cross

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Guest numbers
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

What to tell us

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Where the event is
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Your date and when you want to eat

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Your questions about paella catering in Stone Cross

Which station should guests use for Stone Cross?

Pevensey & Westham station, about 1.3 miles east of the centre.

Can you cook at venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

Are premium seafood options available?

We’ll talk through seafood options when we plan your menu.

Is paella enough as a main?

It can be. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.

Should we have more than one paella?

Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.

Can you cook indoors?

Usually we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
