Paella catering for Salford events

Paella catering in Salford, made fresh on the day

Live paella works almost anywhere with a level, ventilated spot: gardens, marquees, barns, courtyards and festival fields in and around Salford. Typical bookings include company summer parties and birthday celebrations, serving vegetable paella, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

Somewhere as small as Salford, a garden or field is frequently the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. You will know exactly what’s included before booking: the menu, the staff and any extras.

Who books paella catering in Salford?

Live paella is food and a show in one. The cooking becomes the centre of the event, and the food is hot and generous.

Big or small, live paella works well. Common bookings include:

  • Festivals, fairs and school events
  • Garden parties and summer barbecues
  • Milestone birthday parties
  • Weddings, from canapés to evening food

Nearby historic houses include Woburn Abbey (4.6 miles south-east). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on caterers and cooking early.

About the dishes

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a paella that stands on its own. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Live paella or other catering?

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What you get with us

  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu

Take a look at How we price Or What paella catering costs.

How it works

Serving is fast: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Around midsummer it stays light in Salford until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. We serve from the pan, then pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
