Live paella catering in Riseden

Paella catering in Riseden, cooked live

There is something generous about paella: huge pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It makes the food an event in itself. Typical bookings include leaving dos and retirements and birthday celebrations, serving seafood paella, chicken and chorizo paella and paella Valenciana.

In a small place like Riseden, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we’ll plan for them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Paella compared with other options

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why us?

  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • We cover Riseden and the whole of Kent

Should I cook it myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

For event organisers in Riseden

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

The process

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Evenings in Riseden stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Planning help

What paella catering costs

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • The number of people
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • The paellas you choose
  • Timings and hours

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Details that help

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Where the event is
  • The date and rough timings

To get a price, use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.

12 questions to ask before booking

Common questions in Riseden

Is Riseden close to London?

About 36 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Christ Church?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

What seafood can we have?

Tell us your preferences and we will suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

What if the weather’s bad?

We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.

What’s in the pans

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It’s the pan people photograph.

Black rice

Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Space, weather and the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.
